South Africa’s rising Afro Pop star Pretty Masompisi will officially release her highly anticipated debut album, Lelephi, on 10 October 2025.
The 9-track album is a bold introduction to Pretty’s artistry - a heartfelt fusion of Afro Pop rhythms, gospel soul, and modern storytelling. Featuring heavyweight collaborators including Danya Devs, Aubrey Qwana, Jumbo, MusiholiQ, Duncan, Olefied Khetha, Ayahkay, and Njilour, the album bridges the energy of the streets with the spirit of the church.
A Personal Story Told Through Music
Lelephi is named in honour of Pretty’s grandmother, who raised her and continues to be her greatest source of inspiration. Each track explores universal themes of love, faith, resilience, and healing.
Album highlights include:
• “Amakhaza” – the lead single, a moving anthem about longing lovers urging each other to return home before the winter season passes. The track, a duet with Afro Pop icon Danya Devs, is a soaring ballad that blends Afro Pop with traditional African sounds.
• Collaborations with Aubrey Qwana, and Olefied Khetha – rich in lyrical poetry and infused with modern Afro soul textures.
