MAN WAZIMU BIOGRAPHY

Born Peter Wagany, aka Man Wazimu ’Virgin Man’aka ‘Da present’, Unknown Veteran Is Nairobi Based Reggae Artiste with a unique voice and style. His place of resident Mukuru kwa Njenga, is a slum in the East of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. It belongs to Embakasi South Constituency, but it extends into Makadara and Starehe constituencies. It is one of the largest slums in Nairobi; where talent is plenty but resources are scarce and getting into the music industry is quite a tall order. Having been inspired by Hardstone, the strict Seventh-Day Adventist had to overcome various challenges from 2000 until 2003 when he did his first single in Scratch Digital Recordz having met Roba the Producer in the later quarter of 2000. The Man Wazimu and Roba partnership yielded songs like 'Witness', 'Other Kenyans' & Airtime' with 'Airtime' making it to the Top 20 rising reggae artiste in the world per All Fm Manchester UK based radio station, a show hosted by DJ Raven with both 'Airtime' & 'Other Kenyans' making it to the Top 20 Africa Artiste to watch in 2008 having a foothold in UK reggae scene while based in Nairobi Kenya. Other Selektas like Dj Pauze of London, Prince Thierry of France, Jaffa Mafia New Zealand-based Sound System many others recognize the new sound of reggae.

In this business where the strong do not survive, the weak have no chance only the adaptive live. Man Wazimu have been consistent with conscious lyrics songs infused by righteous teachings for the people giving a voice to the under privilege while acknowledging that material blessings are not a crime. He has also worked with various producers like Keygun of Sonic Sounds where he did 'Nah Obsessed' featuring a budding singer Eimah Rox, 'Own Cross' & 'Give Me Strength' featured by Keygun, Dj Supa Kush a Kansas based producer voicing a bashment riddim titled 'Rude Awakening' with a song called 'Sim Card'. The partnership with Waunde Music resulted in songs 'Emergency Pills', 'Kogallo' & 'Prisoners Xmas' on Santa Clause Riddim working with Trublaze Recordz, he voiced on Next Level Riddim with a song titled 'Bad Gal Gone Good'. In 2012 Man Wazimu's first album titled 'My Say' was dropped on 11th July followed by the second album titled 'The Way' on 8th July 2014. In 2016 Man Wazimu released his third studio album titled ‘Thru My Eyez’ working in Everblazzing Production.

Various singles have been released since the third studio album namely 'Rallying Call', 'Loud both Angaza Msanii Productions, 'Sip it' (Good Over Riddim) a Dream True Records a France-based production house, 'Rock Mi' an Angaza Msanii Production, and 'Bridge' on Maasai Moran Riddim a Truce label production.
