Lavoro Duro Presents: Strictly Vernac Riddim - An African Roots Reggae Celebration of Mzansi's Mother Tongues [April 2025]

Dancehall and Reggae Music Producer, 3x South African Music Awards Nominee Lavoro Duro, Roots Rock Reggae Collective and LNT Sound have joined forces to present us with the "Strictly Vernac Riddim." This new release is an African roots reggae celebration that puts the spotlight firmly on African languages and culture through music.

With a line-up of Mzansi reggae and dancehall acts, Strictly Vernac Riddim's core element is simple but powerful: all tracks are sung strictly in local languages. The project directly addresses the growing call for Mzansi Reggae Dancehall artists to sing their local languages in their music rather than employing solely foreign languages exclusively.
